The blizzard warning finally lifted! The park remained closed today due to 60+mph winds, whiteout conditions, the closure of interstate 90, and a power outage. The park will remain closed again today. High temperature today is -8, wind chill -20 to -40. The Ben Reifel Visitor Center, Highway 240 (Badlands Loop Road), Sage Creek Rim Road (Wilderness Area) will all remain closed again today. We anticipate all operations will open again tomorrow. ATTENTION: Due to the winter storm warning in our area, park operations are closed today. That includes Highway 240(Badlands Loop Road), and the Ben Reifel Visitor Center. The winter storm warning is in effect until 11:00am MST Saturday, December 17. Up to 12" of snow are expected in some areas, with a wind chill of -20 to -40.
